Many of us are beginning to realize that we are being lied to by politicians who wrap themselves in the flag of patriotism when they want us to vote a certain way, but who are secretly influenced by lobbyists and corporations seeking legislation that benefits them, and only them.If this makes you angry, it should. Today, corporations dominate our government. Laws are written that overwhelmingly favor industries at the expense of private citizens. Meanwhile, taxpayers foot the bill for billion-dollar bailouts to banks and other corporations. Consumers suffer under oppressive credit card rates, unfair mortgage practices, rising unemployment, out-of-control health insurance premiums and monopolistic control of life's essential resources and services. it's time too make a stand before it's too late and we have lost all of our freedoms that where grant to us by the constitution of the United States of America, and the Bill of Rights. Remember it's "WE THE PEOPLE", not we the government. We need to take our country back from these treasonous state and federal thieves in our governments, and take bake America before it's too late.

Many of us are beginning to realize that we are being lied to by politicians

Each would vote for a louse of a president just to have their party in. Independents seem to be the voting difference in many elections. We also need to get these "lifers" out of Congress. There has to be term limits to all positions......and we shouldn't be giving everyone lifetime pensions and medical for serving for 4 years in Congress.

Obama gave millions of 'bribe' money, aka 'stimulus' money to a company that counts votes and late last year changed the nations voting to 'That' same company ( talk about conflict of interest)....first time in over 100 years that the company that counts votes has changed....ummmm I smell something fishy going on

It is the leadership of the RNC & DNC that controls the power, and is ruining the country. It would be far better to have a government with more choices. I wish we could get a viable third party candidate. If we just keep switching back between these two loosers, they have no motivation to change, and the country will keep spiraling down. I'm not sure NO parties are the right answer. It is chaotic enough in some of the small countries that have 60 different choices. I couldn't imagine how many thousands of candidates we would have on a ballot if there were no parties.

When the Republicans were in control of everything, they stunk, and when the Democrats were totally in control, we know they stunk (and continue to stink) terrible. No budget in years; no opportunity to do a vote in the Senate..... The last year of any presidency is a joke and nothing gets done, as he/she has to politic for his party and not for the people. The system doesn't work as our founders had hoped. Our 'president' is attempting to take total control of what he wants, even when it is Congresses responsibility, with the balance of powers. I say SACK HIM and everyone else that needs to go. I'd love to get rid of both parties and just have the people vote for the best person that's nominated.

However, the founding fathers figured out a good form of government as outlined in the constitution. 3 equal branches of government to oversee maters, but ruled by the people, who were supposed to have enough firepower, to keep in check anyone who would attempt to gain too much power, or use what power they had to evil ends. Trouble is, they envisioned a country where the people would take responsibility, and keep vigilant. We have fallen far from that. Do you know, if we could only get every conservative to vote, we would control both houses and the presidency -- every election!! The same would happen if every liberal voted. Thankfully they all don't. To all: Instead, (or perhaps in addition to), complaining on a GasBuddy web site, take that same energy and E-mail your representatives. They only continue to do as they do when they think no one is watching.

The states that voted majority Democrat, have the Democrat president and Democratically controlled House and Democratically controlled Senate represent them. The states that voted Republican, have the Republican president and Republican controlled House and Senate represent them. Perhaps that would make a better change in people’s minds. OK, you Republicans, just think… You would get rid of NYC and the whole state of California and all its deficiencies.

E.G. (meaning for example): The English language does not contain the word "alot". In the English language, the word "too" means also. In the context used in a previous post, it makes no sense at all. In the English language, which is the official language of the American people, the word "dam" is a noun and refers to the wall that holds water back and gives fish a place to bump thier heads against.

As a Conservative, I believe that we need a change and I believe that those of us right of center need to get motivated. However, vitriolic, "sky is falling" propaganda does not do any good for anyone.

Thankfully I think people are starting to wake up and I believe that we will start to see changes. Our publicized unemployment numbers are not the true unemployment numbers. They do not take into account people that have run out of unemployment benefits, those not actively seeking employment or those that are in school due to unemployment. IF that real number were to come out it would be a HUGE wake up call to America one that couldn't be ignored by anyone! The tax payers continue to pay for more and more government spending every day... we have spent so much in the past 4 years my head is spinning! Why can our government NOT live within its means? I have to as does my family.
