With the long holiday weekend here, gasoline stations along major routes may increase their prices as they expect plenty of carefree travelers to pump their gasoline. This is the norm as stations try to take advantage of holiday travelers that aren't taking time to shop around. Be sure when you head out the door if you're going somewhere to check ahead of time for the best gasoline prices.

Also, make sure to report to us those prices along your travels! Team up with us to tell other motorists what stations are raising their prices. We offer a mobile website (http://m.gasbuddy.com) or just type in "m" instead of "www" on any GasBuddy site to get right to your local prices, such as "http://m.chicagogasprices.com" and you'll have quick...

This is where the Government should step in & stop the price gauging around the holidays.

I'm new to the m.gasbuddy mobile screens. How does one see the diesel prices. I can go to the station and see the diesel price, but then it is hard to compare to other stations. does this make sense?

Prices at stations in my immediate area (nowhere near the interstate highways that the holiday travelers are on) have dropped all week - and have stayed at those levels the past two days.

I don't mind shopping for prices, but I don't think it's wise to deviate from routes by large distances just to find the cheapest prices.

I'll be working all weekend including Monday so no holiday travel for me. Although on my way home tonight I did see 5 Chevron stations in Huntington Beach raise their prices six cents from $2.99 a gallon to $3.05 a gallon, those greedy bastard's!!! So everyone avoid Chevron if you can. Arco stayed the same so use Arco if you can!!!!!

good for gas buddy - also stay above 1/2 full mark so as not to need gas
on the way back - top off tank if cheaper prices are around.

With a 60 gallon tank in my diesel pickup, and getting 21- 23 MPG I can plan ahead a long ways to find cheap fuel.

Cheaper gas in the week leading up to the holiday; but a new trick from the oil companies; they are going to get you on the way back. spotty and sporadic increases in just the last few hours reveal an attempt to raise profits in a weak market! Another observation unusual for price increases; Greedway does not appear to be leading the way with a gigantic hike; but, that may still change before the weekend is over!
