roadrunnin: they are, as long as they don't have to comply with environmental regulations b/c it's a dirty job. But it's very profitable too.

Because we're trying to pipe Canadian crude down to Texas instead of where it's actually needed?

Annoying that the East coast is going to be forced to import as almost all the refineries are being closed. Why can't the refineries make a profit?

Prices would go down if they would refine all that gain in oil into gas.

BS...Look at the source...there isn't any gasoline inventory problem. It's all manipulated by big oil.

gj35 - "IF FAMILIES WOULD SELL ALL BUT I CAR THEY WOULD HAVE PLENTY OF GAS."

Nonsense. Having only one car means more round trips to deliver people to work, for one thing.

These reports mean nothing unless there is a major swing. Speculators control the prices.

We haven't heard much of Big Oil playing the refinery fire/maintenance card. That must be a hole card until nothing else raises prices.

PD is the number one propagandist for Big OIl! It really kills me when he starts up with the warning that the fall change over to Summer blends will be signaling higher gas prices! Big Oil doesn't need any excuse, they just raise prices to make more money!!! This excuse is as old as company propagandist! It needs to be retired just like supply and demand---It's all a bunch of crap!!!!

Protesting & refusing to use high priced gas stations sounds like a great idea. I won't use them for things other than gas either! If everyone does it perhaps it will have an impact?!

rjhenn you are so right! All the BIg Oil people try to do is get either crude or as they say product to the international market so that they can shake the money tree and keep pumping huge profits into their coffers!!

mplato - "supply and demand mean nothing in this industry"

DOMESTIC supply and demand mean nothing in this industry. WORLD supply and demand are everything.

That's why the push for the Keystone XL pipeline, to get Canadian crude on the world, not domestic, market and push up domestic prices.
