welcome to the glogal mayhem. this is not the whole story. the quality of the north american gas and diesel is way lower than the one in europe. the octane and cetane rating in many grades lower. 87 oct doesn`t exist in europe it starts at 92 octanes the cheapest. and you can not even compare the fuel of the same octane rating because even octane ratings are different in n. america, much lower. so where is the famous cheap gas and the promissed cheap gas after iraq invasion. it`s the opposit!

I do not understand the eb and flow of gas prices. One day the cost of oil is less than $100 and there isn't a change in price a few days later it goes to $102 and we see a $0.25 hike, the gas that was in the tank yesterday is still there . . . but now work 0.25 more? please!

WTF does Obama have to do with this? Pure speculation. I heard that gas prices were rising because Gingrich molested a small boy. I also heard that gas prices likely rose because Romney murdered a woman. Seriously, all of you Obama haters need to really get off it. Prices go up (or anything happens), must be Obamas fault. Prices go down, hmmm...I'll just go over and check the latest celebrity news over here...la di da...

With the current administration in power, fuel prices will go up and we can’t do anything about it. Fuel prices seem to be going up everywhere. Thanks Barry! Big oil and refineries export fuel and natural gas to other countries for additional profits. US natural resources that belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

umm, just the midwest? Bay Area CA just saw prices jump at some stations by a dime. R u kidding, Sammy? One of the neocons in the House? Won't happen. They're too far right, too rich, too privileged to appeal to Joe Lunchbucket. (not that Obama isn't any better, but as a choice, he won't do anything stupid that the "hawks" would.
In one case you say, "put one of them in" and in another, you say, "get rid of them all"
Make up your mind.

Let's just get rid of BO and NOT elect one of the Republican neocons in November. There is every reason to believe that BO is out of touch with reality or DELIBERATELY attempting to sack our economy. His State of the Union speech was hogwash! If he wanted to do something about the plight of the unemployed, it would have cost NOTHING to create thousands of jobs by just approving the Keystone XL pipeline as said by Kentucky's Junior Senator Rand Paul after the debate.
The Establishment Republicans (Santorum, Romney and Gingrich) will not offer anything better for the short or long haul, because they have given US the very problems that they are now offering a cure. Get rid of them ALL. Their campaign rhetoric is just that, something that is said to get elected.

"What a bunch of B.S. Two stations raised their prices 30 cents in one hour! What about the gas still in their tanks? Time for big profits."
It is the type of accounting they use. They have to either price by stock on hand or price by stock available. Accounting laws require that they use one or the other and not switch back and forth between the two. Because they cannot separate their old stock from their new they are forced to use the second method. Therefor if there cost goes up, our cost go up at the same time. Not after their tanks go empty. It sucks but it's just the way it is. It also works the other way when gas does go down.

Keep voting for republicans and democrats, dummies. Republicans and democrats are both responcible for this mess. Throw out all the radical conservatives and radical liberals and elect all moderates and independents. Conservatives and liberals suck.
