If you've been in a car in the last month or so, chances are you've seen a gasoline pump- with a rapidly increasing price the last few weeks. While I don't expect prices to fall much, the rate of price increases may slow.

Prices have made the biggest two week jumps in Illinois, up a whopping 47-cents per gallon, Michigan, up 46.6-cents per gallon, Indiana, up 42.1-cents per gallon, and Wisconsin, up 38.7-cents per gallon.

Also seeing sharp increases:
Utah, up 34.9-cents per gallon
Idaho, up 31.3-cents per gallon
Alaska, up 30.4-cents per gallon
California, up 30-cents per gallon
Oregon, up 28.7-cents per gallon
Washington, up 28.3-cents per gallon

There are losers (the above mentioned...

According to GasBuddy's Historical Price Charts, prices in California have gone up about 57 cents between February 5th and March 5th, not 30 cents. It would have been preferable for the prices to go up only 30 cents.

At the rate of increases in gasoline, it still could be $6 a gal. for Memorial Weekend. Still no quick fixes by the White House and Administration. Thieve switched from economical issues to social issues.

My guess is that pump prices will surpass the $4/gallon cost come April 1st.

Energy Secretary Chu has said within the last week that he wants gasoline prices even higher so than alternative energy will be more attractive. Be sure and vote the Dems back in.

Proving once again, the oil monopolies can keep prices up despite we are in a glut to the point they are closing 4 refineries on the East coast, we are exporting gas and in fact it is our biggest export, and the Keystone pipeline which will be used to export even more. Right now the glut of gas and the fact we are at a decade low in usage here proves the rule of "supply and demand" isn't the rule at all with monopolies...

“Virginia, up 10.1-cents per gallon”

We’ve been on the ‘winning’ side of that average, with local prices being up 8¢ at one station and just 3¢ at the other in the past two weeks.

I'd like to know where in Calif. gas only went up 30 cents in the last 2 weeks. 60+ cents here and over $1.25 in the last 6 weeks. Talk about a load of crap. If they (the article writers) are going to post averages please explain how you arrive at your data. Its sure nothing like what we are seeing around here in the bay area.
