Okay, I know it's just now hitting the lots, but was wondering if anyone's picked one up yet and their comments.

I'm currently driving a 2010 Honda CR-V and REALLY need the better gas mileage along with the room.

Comments and observations would be greatly appreciated. And I don't mean about my CR-V!

last friday a person with a white Prius V had parked next to my prius. Looked nice and she indicated they were really pleased with the room...

Car sales for Prius Hybrid (along with all hybrids) for last month, May 2012...

Unfortunately, Ford has no major vehicle to compete at this time...

Very unfortunate...

Poor sales of the prius would indicate people do listen to CR.

The Prius test score, said Consumer Reports, puts it slightly under its chief competitor, the mediocre Honda Insight, and is too low for us to recommend the model.”

Why are all the negative posts made only by one person but posted multiple times?

I’m sorry that your Prius makes you miserable. Really GBHUGVA, your posts remind me of a dirty political campaign. You’re obnoxious, bitter and highly unbelievable.

You obviously have some demented agenda or you wouldn’t spend your time in this message forum.

I’ve never clicked the “ignore” member feature before but sadly, you’re my first.

DETROIT (AP) - Ford is taking on Toyota in the hybrid market.

Ford Motor Co. said Thursday that its new C-Max hybrid small minivan will have a base price of $25,995 when it goes on sale this fall. That's $500 less than Toyota's Prius V wagon.

Ford says the C-Max's fuel economy will also beat the Prius V, which gets an estimated 42 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving.

Toyota Motor Corp. has dominated the hybrid market for more than a decade. In March, for example, 65 percent of the 50,000 hybrids sold in the U.S. were made by Toyota, compared with 3.5 percent for Ford.

Ford hopes to change that with the five-seat C-Max, which will be sold only in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric versions.

2013 Ford C-max Plug-in picking up where the 2005-2012 Escape Hybrid left off would be a better choice than the V.

"Toyota lies about MPG's, The wifes Prius got 40.3(395miles on 9.8gal) last fill NOT the 60/51 Toyota claims."

2004-2007 Toyota claimed 60 mpg city/51 mpg highway later in 2008 it was changed to 48 mpg city/45 mpg highway still higher than we get.

Our 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid gets 32.5 most of the time, paid 10grand
the wifes P.O.S. 2004 prius only gets 40.3 not 60 like they said, but she got it for 7grand, ok beater I guess, but the Ford is our favorite, better quality for sure!

reb4, that driving 30-40mph(pulse-glide/hyper-miling) in 45-55limit roads will get you rear-ended, oh maybe your into that kinda thing!

I had the "AVG MPG" up to 52.4 when I turned the car over to my wife after I picked her up at the Memphis airport Saturday. :)

I think ALL cars get worse mileage in winter. Partial blame goes to the winter-formulated fuel; but I can see how cold weather would have a bigger effect on a hybrid. It's just the way it works.

No matter how gingerly you drive it, the engine MUST run until it reaches operating temperature and when the battery needs to be charged.

If you are running the heater, the engine has to run more too keep the temperature up (and driving a V, you have more space to heat than a regular Prius). Also, the heater fan draws more electricity, so the battery has to be charged more often, even after the engine is warmed up.

Now on top of all that, everything you have turned on - radio (especially XM), lights, wipers, etc all add more electrical drain and require more frequent charging.

I was told that the Prius V gets worse mileage in the winter-cold weather than the regular Prius. I have an 2008 and sometimes get only 36 around town if it is really cold. Also the more worn the tires, the better the mileage.

Well I make the payments, but the Prius is my "wife's car". She's been out of town for a week, so I finally got to drive it.

She had been getting about 40 MPG with it. After I drove it a couple of days, it was getting low on fuel so I filled it up and reset the MPG data. I didn't make a note of the Odometer reading, so I don't know exactly how many miles I have on this tank - but I do know that I have driven it over 100 miles just in the last 2 days. So far my average MPG is 50.9 and getting better as I learn how to make the most of it. :D)

Matrixdom, the matrix is rated at 25 city, 32 Highway.

The PriusV is much bigger than the matrix. Matrix is smaller than my normal size Prius...

Prospectortim, good luck with yuor PriusV.

I have a normal Prius, which is plenty big enough for me...

We just bought a Prius V 3 last night. Too early to tell much yet, but we are looking forward to the MPG! Traded in the 2005 Subaru Outback XT Limited (2.5l turbo) that was averaging around 19 MPG. With the trade in and 1.9% financing for 72 months at Digital Credit Union, our payments will be just a couple of bucks higher than the Sears bill that is almost paid off. :-D

Why not a Toyota Matrix ? You get as much room as a CR-V, especially with the rear seat down. You don't feel like you're driving a car either since the car's center of gravity is higher than most passenger cars.

Oh yeah, you also get 32mpg city/36mpg highway with the 1.8L engine. I got 40mpg out of mine more than once.

I checked one out today at the Toyota dealer. Around $27,000 for one with minimal options to $36,000 for a fully loaded one. I seen three of them and they're all black color. 44 mpg city and 40 mpg hwy. for the Prius v. The original Prius mpg is 51 city and 48 hwy.
