My brother just changed the CO2 sensor on my Jetta and 3 days later the Check Engine light came on. I want to get the codes run but the shops I have called all want $70-$150 to do a diagnostic. All I want is the codes run then I can tell my brother. Any suggestions?

You (or your mechanic) will need a VW (or Audi) specific tool such as the VAG-COM. The generic obd-II tool will only read part of the info and has almost no ability to reset codes.

yes, a few stores will read codes for free; the VAG-COM tool for ~ $250 & up will read all VW codes and do resets. I'm thinking about one as they hook up with all laptops that have USB port
