Most Mini dealers here are part of a BMW dealer, but not all BMW dealers sell Mini's. As for the service, since most dealers will service any car - then likely. But question is whether they can do warranty work, which is unlikely.

Now I'm not happy for the Mini's service in Sterling!

Is there a recommended maximum size for an occupant? I drove in one 25+ years ago while stationed in England for 2 years. Mini Coopers today in the USA seem to be bigger cars than what I remember them in England - I recall it being like driving in a go-cart.

Canadian residents have alternative vehicle available - Smart For Two.
It's good for the city driving and commodious enough.
So, leave MINIs alone - for big US customers, who can't get their demand to MINIs fulfilled.
Buy that MB "Smart" manure instead.

I'm 6' and if the driver seat is pushed all the way back I cannot reach the peddles especially the clutch. There is lots of space in the front for two people, and with the back seats down and the luggage cover removed I had lots of space for my trip to norhtern Ontario this past summer and didn't block the windows at all.

Only the MINI dealership will service them under the warranty.

Would a BMW dealer service a Mini then?

I'm pretty sure that the only way to order a MINI is through a MINI dealership. Not all the BMW dealers sell MINI's. I ordered my online, sent the local dealer a deposit, and picked it up when it came in. The dealer is about 35 miles away from where I live.

If there is no dealership in my area can a Mini be ordered from a BMW dealership?

I have 19,000 on my 2003 Cooper.
1) I have a video of 4 big guys getting into my MINI and driving with fun around cyrcle. And I'm smalest of these 4 - 6 ft 190 lbs. MINI is very roomy inside - especially for commuter car.
2) During commute 35 miles one way (1/2 highway, 1/2 local roads) I managed ~43 mpg = 520 miles on 1 gas tank. Well, it takes a lot of coasting and pissing off other drivers - when on highway, going with speed limit. Without that - regular commute ~35 mpg
3) All the BMW safety features and a lot of driver' fun.

I have a 2004 MINI. I'm 5'10" and with the driver seat all the my back, I can not push the clutch all the my in. There really is a lot of leg & head room in the front. The back is a different story. It has good head room, but very little leg room. But, the performance of the MINI makes up for any short comings from the back seat being small. I've had it almost a year and still look forward to driving it everyday.

I would love a MINI, but I can't talk my DH into buying one. He's concerned that it's just too darned small for comfort. He's a big guy...any points that would help argue my case would be appreciated!
