We have geothermal HVAC. It costs more up front, but the monthly cost is much less. It also heats domestic water, assists in the winter and could probably stand alone in the summer.

I have heating oil hot water as the main source with a wood boiler as a secondary. But no matter what it is all getting too costly.

I believe it's electric, but the exact original powering source of the device has still yet to be determined.

We use kerosene for our furnace... gets cold enough in the wintertime sometimes that #2 heating oil gels up in the tank..

We use Geothermal. I love it. It costs more to install, but it pays for itself rather quickly. When it is running, it also heats domestic hot water. We also get a $0.015/kWh rebate form our electric co-op. It's more efficient on cooling than heat, but both are great.

I use radiant hot water heat-
It gets hot (I MEAN HOT!) and it is costly as well as inefficient.
I have never liked it.
